Like summer’s end, MTV’s 2011 Video Music Awards are fast approaching. If the show’s 26-year legacy is any indication, we’re in for superstar collabs and elaborate sets come Sunday (Aug. 28). To celebrate the annual MTV spectacular, we asked Billboard.com readers to pick the best performances in VMA history — and not surprisingly, pop megastars including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga came out on top of the tally.
